The table shows the combined effect of CC adoption deriving from use of the generic, unported licenses and the ported, i.e. jurisdiction-specific licenses. The interactive maps on the other hand focus on the jurisdiction-specific licenses as these are the ones we can 'locate', i.e. attribute to specific countries and regions. However, any information on these licenses should not be hastily interpreted as country-specific only. Users of the licenses can extend beyond the borders of the country of origin, depending on language, ethnicity, etc. Unported is not shown anywhere in the maps because it cannot be attributed to any particular country or region, although it does account for a very significant portion of CC use around the world.
